Super Bowl, un match incredibile che incorona Brady e i New England

Certi sogni finisco a tanto così dalla meta. A una yard svaniscono quelli dei Seahawks. Li intercetta Malcom Butler, e così il Superbowl 2015 lo vincono i Patriots di New England, 28 a 24 al termine di una partita incredibile. Volano i coriandoli per il Phoneix Stadium, in Arizona, e tutta la squadra dei Pats si mette le magliette e i cappellini preparati apposta per la vittoria. Tom Brady, il quarterback, sale sul palco con l'aria da gringo: «Amo questi ragazzi, li amo tutti» dice indicando i compagni di squadra lì sotto. Gli spettatori che sono rimasti sugli spalti fanno un gran baccano. È di nuovo il suo momento. Con questo successo Brady eguaglia Joe Montana che in carriera ha vinto quattro titoli e tutti lo considerano una leggenda. «Non ci sono parole per descrivere questo momento. Sono fiero e felice per questo successo» dice Tom. Oggi che Brady è il campione che guadagna quasi trenta milioni di dollari a stagione, sposato con la top model Gisele Bundechen e idolo di tutta l'America, fa quasi sorridere ripensare agli inizi di Michigan, quando era stato scelto al sesto giro, 199esimo, per entrare nei Pats. L'avevano un pò snobbato, ma oggi la storia è con lui. La scrive in una notte speciale. Piena zeppa di colpi di scena. I Patriots sono sotto di 10 punti all'inizio del quarto periodo. Ovviamente le storie belle devono avere un eroe, e questa del Superbowl 2015 ha il suo: Tom Brady, che la scrive realizzando il 12mo passaggio touchdown. Il suo idolo Montana si era fermato a undici. Con questo successo Brady conquista anche il terzo titolo come miglior giocatore del torneo. I Patriots, invece, non vincevano un Superbowl dal 2004. Ma non è stato facile. Già in vantaggio di 4 punti, quando mancano poco meno di trenta secondi i Pats tremano. Seattle arriva a una yard dalla end zone dopo una grande giocata di Lynch. Il tempo per il touchdown decisivo c'è. Russell Wilson, il quarterback dei Seahawks, fa la scelta sbagliata: scaglia un lancio troppo pretenzioso, troppo brutto per essere vero. Tra lui e la gloria si mette in mezzo Malcom Butler, che intercetta il passaggio e - di fatto - chiude la partita. «Avevo avuto una visione. Sapevo che stavo per fare una grande giocata, e poi la cosa si è avverata. Sono solo benedetto» dirà Butler. Gli ultimi venti secondi sembrano non passare mai. La tensione sale, ci scappa una rissa. Brady cerca di guadagnare attimi inginocchiandosi mentre il suo coach, Bill Belichick, guarda da un'altra parte. Fino al boato dei Pats. Nell'attimo esatto in cui la festa comincia.
